I have recently discovered that the church was built in 1792 and originated from 3 friends; Messrs Woodcock, Winder & Burford. I further understand that this Mr Burford could be the same man as a William Burford who worked at the Bury Ground ( Sir Robert Peel apparently said he was the most diligent servant in the Parish !!)
I wonder whether anyone has any further information regarding Mr Burford of New Road Congregational Church ?
