Couple of questions

My auntie gave me a copy of your no.18 newsletter, which I found very interesting I have been doing a little bit of research on Philips Park near Whitefield/Prestwich, and wondered if anyone could suggest some good reading material? I have also done a fair bit of work on the Manchester Bolton and Bury Canal, not that I've discovered anything new but this is all for Wikipedia articles I'm writing up.

The above is quite embryonic as I have only just started it - it needs much more filling out.

If anyone spots any errors or has anything to add to the canal article below, it would be much appreciated! I'm particularly interested to see if anyone knows of any names on the list of subscribers, and the committee - I have my suspicions but will not enter them until confirmed. Lyon of Warrington (sugar?) Drinkwaters - Drinkwater Park? Cromptons - Papermakers?

I was interested to read of the accident where 3 men died at Warth - I recall reading about this in The Times archive (http://archive.timesonline.co.uk/tol/archive/), but didn't know exactly where it was. Now I do! I always wondered what that spoil was.
