TURNPIKE LANE Empty TURNPIKE LANE

Hi,
I have just received my deeds from my Building society and was amazed to
read that my house which stands on Rochdale Road Bury but in 1814 the Road was called Turnpike lane.
Can anyone throw any light on when the names changed please, I have tried the
Site name search on here but not listed in the data.
